The Prime Minister announced to Parliament this afternoon four steps to re-opening England “cautiously

Step 1 - from Monday 8 March

  • All schools reopen
  • People can meet one other person outside for recreation or exercise
  • Stay at home order remains in force

From Monday 29 March:

  • People will no longer be legally required to stay at home, but should continue to work from home where possible and minimize travel
  • Outdoor sport and leisure facilities will reopen along with organized sports.

Step 2 - no earlier than Monday 12 April

  • Non-essential retail reopens – includes leisure vehicle dealerships, retail outlets and showgrounds on holiday parks
  • Indoor leisure facilities such as gyms
  • Self-contained self-catering accommodation (holiday lets) but only for individuals or household groups
  • Domestic overnight stays – households only
  • Pubs and restaurants with outdoor service
  • Zoos, theme parks and drive-in cinemas reopen.

Step 3 - no earlier than Monday 17 May

  • Remaining accommodation - hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs to re-open
  • Pubs and restaurants will open for indoor service
  • Indoor children’s play areas, cinemas and theatres reopen
  • Most restrictions outdoors will be lifted, subject to a limit of 30 people
  • Rule of 6 or two households will allow people to meet indoors
  • Some large events including conferences and sports events (indoors and outdoors) subject to capacity limitations
  • Pilot of larger events using enhanced testing
Step 4 - no earlier than Thursday 24 June
  • Remove all legal limits on social contact
  • Allow larger events including theatre performances above the limits of Step 3, subject to potentially using testing to reduce risk of infection and further evaluation.

Government will conduct 4 reviews to assess:

1. Social distancing measures and use of facemasks, to include guidance on working from home which should continue where possible until this review is complete – by 21 June

2. A return to international travel – taskforce to report on 12 April, to allow people to plan for the summer

3. COVID status certification to enable venues to reopen safely

4. The safe return of major events.

Provision of free test kits for workplaces will continue until 30 June.

Support packages: Chancellor will set out further details in the Budget on 3 March.

With the many government guidelines that are being introduced for social distancing and sanitizing procedures to be adhered to, we have been busy in the back ground making sure we have made all the relevant changes and have PPE in place to make your experience at the Orchard Caravans Leisure Group as safe as possible.  However, for the time being we will be operating with limited staff so we are kindly asking our customers, to please make an appointment prior to arrival as we are going to have to limit the amount of customers we accommodate at our showground at any one time.

Covid-19 update 21-05-2020

On the 23/03/2020 We were instructed by our government to close the ORCHARD HOLIDAY PARK  due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a result of this instruction all the holiday caravan parks we deal with had to do the same, and on the 25/03/2020 we had no choice but to close our main offices and service department and furlough all of our team as we were unable to carry out work on any of our customer parks.

We recognise that this action is needed to help stop the spread of this terrible virus and

I speak for everyone at the Orchard Leisure Group in that we are fully behind our government in what is an unprecedented challenge, our front line NHS doctors and nurses who work tirelssy, unselfishly, putting themselves at risk trying to save lives, all the keyworkers at the NHS and our keyworkers across the U.K.  THANK YOU!

Like everyone else on the planet our 'normal' has gone, it's not easy to deal with and there are times when anxiety creeps in, but we remain positive, there is no other way to be.

We miss each other, our customers, the work, the routine, the buzz of business, the challenge, the highs, the lows, the competition, banter in the tea hut, mardles on a Saturday afternoon, all those things that we do and take for granted. So many to list.

But the end will come and we will be ready to hit the ground running, this will be triggered when the government allows the caravan parks to open for business! This is something we very much look forward to and welcoming back all our regular customers.

In the meantime, take great care and stay safe.

Covid-19 update 27-03-2020

Due to the current and ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 and the government lock down we have closed down and sent everyone home. We will open as soon as we are allowed and when it is safe to do so.

We are taking our responsibilities to respond to COVID-19 extremely seriously and are following all advice from the Government and the UK's health department to make sure we're doing everything we can to prevent the spread and protect our customers and our staff.

Stay safe everyone, be positive, our perspectives will change!
